I just bought an iron head, iron block 6.0L LQ4 for my 78 Datsun, and i want to know as much about them as possible before installing the engine. I know it came with a longer crank which means i should be able to run a 700r4 or something without a spacer right?

What about the rods? Are they stronger or weaker?
What about the compression ratio, what is it?
What about the heads, are they the same casting as 317s?
What about the crank, is it just as strong as the rest?
What about the block, its identical correct?

I'm just looking for differences on the engine so i can select the right parts during my build.
