Default How bad should my h/c 92/92 car run w/o tune?

I know the car isnt gonna run good without a tune , but i was wondering how bad? The car doesnt idle that bad, kinda what i expected, but its my first h/c car and i was just curious as to how it should be on power. Should it feel sluggish until the tune or should it still feel strong but idle bad? The car feels way underpowerd. Is this normal for an untuned h/c car? Also , my ls7 lifters are very loud (sewing machine sound). normal for them or maybe a pushrod and preload issue?

They can run prety bad. I would NOT go hauling *** down the road untill its tuned. Your sewing machine sound could be from the wrong size push rod. Did you check for length? What size are you running?

Why would you want to risk damaging the engine?

I would think you would need a shorter than stock (7.4'') push rod, with a milled head.

I would have guessed shorter pushrods also.

Due to the different valve angle on the Trickflow heads, you use a 7.500" pushrod. I also asked Trickflow this after Vengeance told me that too, and they were right!

+1 on the WHY run this car UNTUNED?
Especially with higher compression?
You will then be able to eliminate the skipshift, airpump, rear 02's among other things.
Get it tuned please.

I wouldn't really say I'm running it, I'm just trying to break in the clutch and make sure that the lifters and pr length is ok. Yes this is the car that I was working on a few months ago , nut due to my mothers passing in jan , I am only now getting to Finnish it.
