Default Stock Pushrod Diameter?

Can anyone tell me what diameter stock 7.400" pushrods are? 3/8? 5/16? I can't remember off hand & Texas Speed couldn't seem to tell me what they were either. Thanks!

Had me questioning it too. Thanks though! I thought they were 5/16ths but I wasn't completely sure!

Check with Terry Manton at Manton Pushrods. Very smart guy that makes a great product. I run his 11/32's .120 wall thickness in my car.

I don't know who you could have talked to, but everyone at TSP that normally answers the phone knows they are 5/16". They have worked with them on their own cars and have sold tens of thousands...

I believe he said his name was Matt. I can't recall. I called and said I had a 2000 LS1 with stock 7.400" pushrods, and I need to know what diameter they are, and he said he wasn't sure if they were 3/8 or 5/16. I had a guy order some pushrods for his LS1 at my work, but for some reason I had a brain fart and couldn't remember what diameter they were, and didn't have mine there to measure, so I figured I'd just call them and ask them.

Matt knows as well as anyone else; maybe he had a brain fart too!

To the OP and Joseph: They are not a true 5/16" OD or 7.400" length from the factory, which is why I told the OP I did not know the exact on the phone. Upon measuring a few just now, they measure about .308" OD (compared to .3125" for a 5/16"). That correlates closer to 8mm than to 5/16". Also, they are actually a bit shorter than 7.400" from the factory.

Hope that helps clarify.

Thanks for the info man. I might have been a bit confusing on the phone the way I asked. I was just looking for a general size of stock length pushrods, so we could get some rods in this motor and get it fired up! Thanks again!
