Default cam help, long drives

I want to put a cam in my car but the only problem is I drive a 450 mile round trip every week. What would be a ggod selection that wont go through springs quick and what would be the biggest i can go and still get the best of both worlds. Gas Milage is also a factor. 224/224 or cam i go with something like an eltorro or f13

Tried & True 224/224 is my vote for a daily driver. What gear? Auto or m6?

As long as you have a good shop to tune it, you can get away with something bigger. I run a 238/242-605/610-113+4 on Comp XER lobes with Patriot dual golds in my t/a. Drive it everyday 300 miles a week and my wife take this on all our trips. Most of those are 400 plus round trips back to Ark. I've got 3.73s and 4K Yank, still knock down 20 mpg when crusing between 70-80. Hell my wife even drives it a bunch back and forth to work or just around town.

The 224 at 800rpm idle has a nice lope to it, you'll be happy.
