Alright, I am looking for information on this topic. What will get you more power? ~a cam with 10degrees more duration or a one point higher compression (i.e. 10.5:1-11.5:1). Reason being is that I am looking at a cam that has alot of duration but it really cant handle too much compression. And I really dont want to flycut. So am i better off getting a little bit smaller cam and picking up the compression or staying with the bigger duration and not messing with the duration??? Thanks ahead

For instance, Stock bottom end LS1, Polluter cam, and 5.3L heads. Now, wouldnt that have a compression of about 10.75:1? Not sure the specs on the cam, just know its in the 240's. Now if I wanted my compression in the mid 11's, and I didnt want to flycut, would I get more power out of a motor that has the TREX with 10.75:1 compression, or a motor that has a mid cam like a 233 duration with 11.5:1 compression? This is a car that will see 50/50 street/strip, with 4.10 gears M6. Now, im not just looking at top end, im looking at all around power. Just wondering if sacrificing compression for duration is worth it, or vise versa???
