Milling stock heads
So I'm going to be taking off the heads on my car to replace the lifters when I install a new cam, I figured I should do some work to the heads b4 they go back on..the plan was to do a little work on the ports and chambers and then have them milled for more compression.....I've never done this b4 and i'm looking for tips.....anyone wanna share some tips with me??

For this motor I'm not looking for anything big, I'm doing this for a learning experience and replacing worn out parts....it all starts with valve springs and snowballed from there LOL. The motor has a lot of miles on it so i wasn't looking for big power and high RPMs....plus I got the cams for cheep so I plan on using one in this motor and one in a 5.3 build for my truck.
I'm starting to think more and more about just installing the springs, retainers, and pushrods and leaving the rest of the motor alone till it gets replaced in a year or two.....it already has almost 110,000 miles so I mean, how long is it going to last???maby it'll hold on long enough for me to get the rest of the drivetrain replaced...I don't know.

Brent I have my stock heads with 30K miles that have 918's( 3500 miles) and 7.400 chromoly pushrods. I ran a comp 228/228 .571/.571 on XE lobes. You can have the whole package if you want something with lower mileage to mill down.
