Spun Rod Bearing?
My car just started acting like it was missing one day. I had over revved the car previously and thought that it might be the problem. So I pulled the heads inspected the lifters and cam. They were fine. Put new heads on and so forth. When I fired it back up, it still did it. Not throwing codes or anything. Feels way down on power. My question is, does the rod bearing just go all at once or can it go slowly? It is not insane bad, just noticeable. I have a feeling that it just started. I can post a vid if necessary, but prefer not to drive the car if avoidable.
Thanks,
Thanks,

like anything else it can wear out slowly. mine on the other hand gave no indication what so ever that the engine was about to puke the #7 rod bearing. i was sitting at a traffic light waiting for it to turn green, just idleing...then when i went to pull out ( very gently and slowly) it started a loud knocking noise and the oil pressure dropped

It happened when I was on the freeway. I just tried to speed up from 65 to 70 and it started doing it. It is not a knocking. Just a good stumbling. I just dont want to take it in for all this diagnosis and they tell me that I have a spun rod bearing. Which I already would have known.

You'll know if you have a spun road bearing. Its not a stumble, its a definite bottom end knock. If your engine isn't knocking at all and your oil pressure is normal, its very unlikely that you spun a rod bearing.
Is your Service Engine Soon light on??

You will have a loud knock and could also have a bit of a squeal with a spun rod bearing. Though an way easy to check is to pull your oil filter and pour it out on a rag in your hand and if it looks like you struck gold your fucked.

You might have an actual bent rod. I have a car sitting here with that same noise you described. I was initially chasing a lifter bleed down issue. Almost put it back together to see if the motor would spin free and it hangs up in one spot. Tore the motor down to find #6 rod looking like my dick. had a slight curve to it. HAHA

Nope a rod just wont bend over time. usually it happens when an engine hydrolocks or gets some water into the cylinder by popped head gasket or something like that. I have heard of it happening that a motor has not lost oil pressure even though it had spun a bearing. Sounds like this issue here, something is knocking so I would pull it apart now that the block is salvageable.
