What does "REVERSE SPLIT PATTERN CAM" mean?

Default What does "REVERSE SPLIT PATTERN CAM" mean?

i was looking on texas speed and i seen a couple of cams that said this...what does it mean? thanks

thats when the intake duration is bigger than the exhaust duration... like their 228/224 cam...

what ^ he said. i got the TR 230 which is a reverse split grind. from what i've read, reverse splits are optimal for N/A motors as long as your intake and exhuast is setup for it.

Reverse splits are not optimal. Optimal is when a cam is designed to produce maximum power out of an induction system for a specif power band. Reverse splits are designed to do this with induction systems where the exhaust is very efficient.

What would be considered "efficient" exhaust and intake? LT headers, not cats, true duals, LSX manifold, 85mm MAF, etc.....???
