think gears will help my TR230?
well i got a 2002 ws6 m6 and have a tr230 cam with pacesetter headers, ory, slp lid, s3 tb and dyno tune of 406rwhp. i have the stock 3.42 gears and would like some opinions to see if 3.90's or 4.10s would make a big diffrence. my cars is a daily driver and rarely sees strip action. i also do roll racing. well guys tell me what you think.

i'm in the same boat only mine is a weekend toy. i think i'll wait and save up for a 12 bolt and get gears at same time. But to answer your question i've ridden in cars with 4.10's and it's a huge difference.

I just did 3.73s and it was a big difference.. i'd def do 4.10 if it's staying n/a. Keep in mind you're gonna run out of gear somewhere around 120-125mph in 4th. So that will be enough for a cam only car, but not a cam only car w/ a bottle.
Sometimes it's good to evaluate your specific situation and not take other people's advice, some say "DONT FEAR THE GEAR".. and then other people don't like changing their gears again when they add a buck fitty shot. Do it right the first time!!!

gears will make the low end feel much stronger. the mechanical advantage of the lower gears (numerically higher) is huge.
its all about the application of the power.....long wrench handle compared to short length handle
