Thermostat Choices....
I did a search here before posting this question (sorry if this has been asked a million times) and could not find an answer.
My question: Why would someone want to run a 160 thermostat vs 180 or 190 ??
I know that some people have used a 160 to "fake" the ecu to run a little richer with varying amounts of success....but I also recall reading somewhere that 192 degrees is supposedly optimal for best burn in the cylinders. Being that I'm going to be using HPTuners to optimize fuel/timing maps, is there any reason that I should want to run a cooler-than-stock thermostat??

cooler engine = less chance for detonation.
i've never run a stat to "fake" anything....
obviously you can go TOO low.
but driving around i've watched my scanner. with my 160 stat and an Electric Water PUmp i'm still only getting down to 172-174 coolant temps.
