How about a set of TFS 215's from Vengeance Racing and their Vindicator cam ??

That should get you started for sure. You'll want supporting bolt ons to get the power you are after, so add one of Ron's ported fast 92's with a 92mm tb and you should be feeling the need for speed. Your 3.73's are going to help her feel even quicker.

Im guessing its an A4 with the 3.73 gears-regardless you should probably get a rear end/drive shaft/tranny, then a 4XX block and some mamofied AFR 225's. Go big or go home.

yeah its an a4. A motor swap would be nice but i dont think i could convince the wife to let me spend that kinda money.

I was told the TREX cam would be a good choice but what heads would i go with

And what kinda power are we looking at with your choice.

Sorry for all the questions

Thanks in advance

^^i would not go with the trex cause it was made for stock heads the best deal i really think right now is the vengance package with tfs 215's and a vrx4 or something like that or a custom cam

A4 with a Vindicator might be a bit much. You should look at the vrx4 or 5 cam to go with a set of milled TFS 215's.

Ive been in your situation before man, what rank are you and how long are you going to be gone?
I'm telling you for the amount of money your going to end up spending you are going to end up wishing you had just bought a new motor. I wish I did! Man if you have the ability to do it then get it done!

If you are set on staying stock cube then mamofied AFR 205's and matching cam. Something similar to Pat G's 500+rwhp setup.

you really need to find out what exactly you want.

just a few things to consider...

budget
where do you want your power? low end? midrange? top end?
how high do you want to spin your motor?
what size stall do you intend to go with?
how much tolerance do you have with violent idle?
what other supporting mods are you going to use with this combo?
is this for racing? quarter mile? roll raing? street performance?

take advise from people here but dont rely completely on it. Do your OWN research. You wont be home for while... you got time...

Head and cam... $3,000
new motor... $10,000 plus need a stronger drivetrain wich will cost thousands more

How does that compare?

PRC 215 heads and MS3 from Texas Speed, FAST 92 and NW 92 TB, 100mm MAF and 100 mm Fasttoys lid (if it becomes available), 3200 stall, 255lph fuel pump and 42 lb injectors.

Cause when I was in the same situation I ended up spending the extra thousands anyway on stuff that I really didn't need. The OP has an opportunity that comes along very seldom here, depending on his rank hes pulling down over 6 grand a month tax free with nothing to spend it on. Again depending on his rank a built to the hilt motor is 2 months worth of saving.

Ya I was happy when my wife agreed to separate accounts while I was deployed, made life much easier with far fewer questions.
