Default rebuilding my motor torque spec question

im rebuilding my bottom end for my 98 trans am...i need to know what all the torque specs for like the rod bolts,mains and etc ....like i did a search but didnt really find a good post on it

I would also much rather use a stretch gauge on the rod bolts instead of a TQ Wrench, its more accurate that way.

Doing a build with no manual...no definitive clearance specs for the bearings, ring end gaps, etc.

Expensive lesson awaits.

the machine shop is putting my bottom end together..they just wanted me to get them the torque specs to double check to make sure what they had was right

Let me guess...its one of those machine shops thats never seen an LS or Modular engine before??

My friend has that experience with a machine shop. Took his Modular there to get bored/honed and assembled and they didn't know what the hell they were doing, period. They couldn't even find the right bearings for it.

Gotta watch out for those "old school" guys that aren't up on the newer engines. I'd much rather take my engine to a place that specializes in LSX so that everything is done right the first time.
