Default Are 227 cc intake runners too big?

Are 227cc intake runners too big for a stock cube LS1? I'm really leaning towards patriot for my 243 heads based on cost..... and other information you guys can give me would be great. I also plan to run a ported 92mm intake manifold

That is what stock LS6 heads are (approx) Usually if you reduce the intake runner size its in an effort t build more TQ as the velocity is kept high. I love my patriots, they make good power

Search the dyno section very careful what brand you choose. You might check the Precision Race Components LS6 heads out also. A quick search & I think you'll find for the money they're the best cylinder head available.

or
http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=134&catid=20

Both cylinder heads are available custom milled free of charge & PRC heads have a flow guarantee, if your not 100% happy with the flow you can return them for a absolute refund.

IMO apply the 92/92 $$ towards really good heads. Granted it will be a bit more coin, but heads are the core of any successful build.
Take it one step at a time and buy the best heads your money can get.

I would contact TSP and look into PRC cylinder heads along with their FAST/PTM 92 combo. This will be the best hp for your money setup.

Where does the PTV issue occur? When the combustion chambers are milled (I'm looking @ 59 cc). Also, how does the effect cam selection? This is the cam I'm looking into (215/230 .629/.592 117) and I'm not ASE certified so I'm really not sure it the lift it high....

You'll need to measure about 10* BTDC and 10* ATDC, that is usualy the danger zone.
That cam will fit with stock gaskets and 59cc 243s (2.02 valves)

To add to that, measure from about 10 before and after TDC....not just 10 before and 10 after. Those in-between spots are important.

ASE's don't mean much unless your a paid mechanic, anyone can study and pass a test. Then you just have to work for a few years.
