I am planning on a 7000 rpm rev limiter setting. I went with Morel lifters to be safe and some 3/8" Manton pushrods, Jesel Rockers.

I was told ls7 lifters would work at 7000rpm so thats what I have, but my motor isn't running yet so I can't tell for sure it works, but that is what I am running.

I've got them in stock.. But heres the thing... how consistantly is it going to see 6000-7000 rpms ??

Morel has a a few stages of lifters and if you are going to constantly be in the 6000-7000 range say as in a road racing application then you might want to step up to the Morel "pro" series. It gets its roots from offshore racing where the rpms are contantly held at or near maxium. The lifter is made slightly different to enable it to withstand the pressures that are exertated in those etreme situations.

Sorry to thread jack... I'm building a motor revving to a similar range (6,800-7,200), with Comp 850-16 lifters. So out of curiousity how would you guys rank the Comp 850-16's in comparison to the Morel, Caddy, and LS7 lifters? I'd guess Morel, Comp, Caddy, LS7?

But for how long at a time? If your just touching 7k during 1/4 miles runs, its different than a constant 6500 rpms for 45 minutes while your lapping on a road course.

If your just hitting that upper rpm for short bursts then the regular Morel should be fine but if you going to hold that kind of rpm constant then I would seriously consider stepping it up. BUT your talking a huge price difference so you need to be sure of your application.

Why are the caddy ones better? And if I had the cash I would go with the morels. I never heard one bad thing about them.
