Default Cam Help

Ok so I am bone stock except for an airlid. I want to start modding a little bit and collecting pieces along the way so that I can do it all at once. Would this be a good cam for a car that is also used as a daily driver?

Comp Cams 224/228 @ .050 duration , .595/.615 lift , 114 LS.

Or this one ... 225/227 @.50, .571 lift, 112 lobe-center angle

I dont know much about cams but have been told something between the 224/228 range is good for a DD car.

Thanks

Hey TEX man cam's are like chick's!, everybody got a diff. op. of perfect!!
but you'll get more responses if you give more info like M6 or A4, you said bone stock
ex lid but do you plan on full exahust? or other mods? Do you want a sleeper or
do you wan't a nasty big thump'n cam?

its an M6 and i want power but not anything rough. I want about 50hp if possible but kind of a sleeper sound. So if any of those two cams will work that will be great. Thanks.

The 224/228 would probably be good for you if you don't want to hear the cam very much! As for drivability I'm sure you could do a 228/228 and it would drive like stock! With the right tuner of course!

Get a quality set of headers first.

I've done a few camshafts with stock manifolds, but I really like to see headers be in place prior to the camshaft. We've run a 220R camshaft & 220/224 camshaft with stock manifolds. Checkout the Pacesetter 1 3/4" long tubes, or the TSP 1 7/8" long tubes for the bang for the buck they're hard to beat.
