Valvetrain Noise on a TR224
How much valvetrain noise should there be with this cam? I might just be hearing things. How loud is the clatter suppose to be? I just had this cam installed, and im just not sure how loud the clatter is suppose to be.

I also have that sewing machine sound with my 224. By most accounts, a set of true roller rockers will quiet it down quite a bit. It seems that yella terras are the bang for the buck choice.(under 500.00, i think).

You may have a cam with too small base circle. Don't know about the TR cams but some cams are designed with a smaller base circle than stock to allow for milled heads. First cam I installed had a 1.520 diameter base circle. I think stock for 01 & 02 LS1. My 98 stock is 1.552. I got way too much rocker noise. Now I have a Comp with 1.540 and noise is acceptable. This one is designed for just a mild head resurfacing.

Im running the 1.25 dual spring REVS and have little noise. Check your AIR, before I got rid of mine it made all sorts of racket that sounded just like valvetrain noise
