Default Crank relearn?

Long story short I was reading about something earlier that mentioned this procedure for when a pcm is switched or relationship between the cam and crank is disturbed.

It reminded me that when I did this back when the engine first went in, I was having a bad misfire condition due to a faulty coil harness which caused very bad backfiring and stuttering.

If the crank relearn was done improperly would a code be thrown once the engine started running correctly?

Basically I'm wondering if the process should be redone. I'm just trying to track down some demons and low power with my car and want to cover everything. Tomorrow I will be doing compression and leakdown tests too.

Didn't know if this might help me any...
