Will a high stall converter let me get away with a more aggressive cam?
Since I already have a Midwest 3000/2.5 , will I NOT have serious idle issues going to a lopey cam...say a Hotcam for example. Will I need to simply increase the size of the hole in the TB plate to get an acceptable idle if I do have issues? What other tuning issues can be expected as well?

the hot cam just has a 112 lsa right, its lobes and lift are pretty mild arent they. with the hot cam you should just need some minor tuning to get it running straight. from my understanding the hot cam isnt very peaky so you shouldnt need a new TC to get into the powerband.

The Hotcam does have a 112lsa and is somewhat on the mild side...pretty much what I'm looking for with it's little strain on the valvetrain and good power through the rpm range (and lets not forget a little "lope" ;-). I don't want a "strip" cam and the 3000 stall is as high as I would want to go with for driving in the mountains....I would probably need about a 3600 stall to realize a peaky cams potential.
