Default which intake manifold gasket for 02 ls1?

I cant even find them on some sites. I have to buy some knock sensors and the harness so i thought i might as well grab the gasket too.

is this one the right part?

No that is not them.
LS6 manifol gaskets are like rectangular O-rings. You'll need 8 of them.
You can find them at most stealerships.

They are part # 12533587. You can pick them up from Scoggin Dickey who is a sponsor here. Link: http://www.sdparts.com/product/12533...oldGasket.aspx

what are these style gaskets for?

I've been wondering for quite some time.

Maybe to give some clearance between the bottom of an intake manifold and the valley pan to keep from pinching the knock sensor wire?

The one piece gasket seem to come in varying thicknesses: .030.060.090

Maybe they make up for milling heads?

Thanks for the clarification Predator Z.

Do/would they help solve heat soak?

Seems like they would provide some R value to insulate the manifold from the head.

Heat soak, no. Heat soak is the effect of a hot intake on the incoming charge (the air heats up before going into chamber= less dense charge=less power). But heat soak is overrated on NA motors.

awesome thanks. ended up getting some fel pro from autozone. i tried the part number sticky in maintenance at scoggins but i mustve put something in wrong anyways. now just waiting on my knock sensor harness since i just read today that it can get shorted out when one of the knock sensors goes bad.
