Default Popped the motor on the dyno, need power combos please

I spun over a couple rod bearings tonight on the dyno and would love to hear engine cam, intake combos which make good power. I have a BBK SSI intake w a comp 273XER cam and made 325 to the wheels ONCE. The second pull was 250 hp with a couple rod bearings singing once the pull was over. Any help would be appreciated as I am tearing down the engine and it would be a good time to change things now if I need to.

check the dyno section. My Exhaust/tr224 made 385 hp uncorrected 365 hp corrected through an unlocked 3200 converter and ran a 12.1 at the track shortly after that with full stock suspension.

I tore it down last night and found one of my roller lifters has a small section of it chipped away next to the pin that holds the roller in place. I am assuming the pieces that broke got somewhere they should not have been. I spun #2 rod bearing.

I had the stock lifters w 60k miles on them. I would not think they should have any problems yet. Who ported your heads for you and did you gain much hp from it. I am trying to decide what to do for power adders now that the motor is tore down.

You can buy a set of ls7 lifters pretty cheap and make a great replacement for stockers

damn..its always a good idea to upgrade lifters when spinning high rpms...i just bought ls7 lifters for mine, was around $140 shipped to my house from texas speed.my heads were ported by a shop in texas, im sure there will be a gain over stock. my parts are being installed next week finally, just need to pickup a set of LT's before friday. nice car btw! if i were you i would look into a 6.0L LQ4 motor with a turbo setup, esp with all of the extra room you have under the hood as compared to a 98-02 ls1 car
