Question Please Vote and elect my heads

My current setup: 2002 T/A CE M6 with,

1) LID & K&N,
2) 160* thermo,
3) FLP Longtubes,
4) MTI C2 (224/224 .581/.581 112 LSA) camshaft

What are the best heads to complement this setup? What ballpark hp/tq should I expect with them?

What are your future plans. What is your budget. Some very affordable heads are starting to show up lately that are putting down good numbers. The TEA's seem really good for the money.

Bill speaks the truth. The price of those things are amazing, not to mention you don't have a core charge on them. I have nothing but great things to say about mine and the service from Texas Speed and Patriot.

If I had to do it again, I would go with the new AFR heads for around $1800.... apparently, they will start shipping soon....

Leaning heavily towards the Patriot Stage II LS6 heads. Flow numbers look awesome and direct bolt-on, no modifications required and NO CORE...

Anybody have know of a reason I should stay away from these??

TEA. Warranty and price can't be beat. They run pretty good too, see sig.

have to admitt the patriot ls6 heads seem to be a great bargain, the only thing that holds me back from them is all the problems with the patriot heads a few weeks ago, the oil consumption, loose guides and clearance problems. it seems they may have worked out all the bugs. my choose would be between the patriot 5.3ls or ls6 heads, I would choose the 5.3l's, I hears alot of bad things about adding large amounts of weld on chambers of heads, my speed shop says the weld could crack and the seats may shift around and fall out after a while, so I feel better going with the patriot 5.3l heads. Im a bit of a worry wort and even though nothing will probably happen I would hate to think about it. so my vote is patriot 5.3ls or wait a while longer to make sure the ls6 heads are failure free

FWIW - this is my take on heads and I've been looking seriously for my current project. I've considered the following:

Please note they are listed in no particular order

MTI Stage 2E - $1595 and great flow, proven rep of standing behind their work, dual springs, titanium retainers & outstanding customer service. Check the board lot's of cars making excellent to outstanding power. This porting can be done on any head you have. Get cores for $175, sent them in and have MTI for a very reasonable cost.

TEA - unknown - Brian at TEA has a new 2.5 SAM/Judson Massengale port. The new TEA has show 90rwhp gains on a serious NOS set up ie from ~600rwhp to 690rwhp. The details and price will be forth coming. This head appears to be able to flow ~300 cfm at .500 lift...These would be top of my list to learn about before buying a new set of heads.

JPR - price I don't know for new but I have a set of used LS6 JPR's and they flow exactly what Joe said they would. These are basic Stage 1 heads that pulled 447rwhp w/10-bolt and 420rwhp thru a 9 inch. When Joe goes all out your going to make serious power following his recommendations for the package.

Absolute Speed - $1800+ One of (first?)consistant 450rwhp heads. Results and happy customers speak very highly of Jay at Absolute.

Patriot - $1799 had a few teething troubles which appear to be in the past. The LS6/LQ9 head is proving to make excellent power. Price is outstanding. Well worth considering. If your getting Pats go for the LS6/LQ9 head as it promises the most bang for the buck out of the Pat heads.

RGR good rep reasonable price seem to more than hold their own with whats in the market place. Better than a lot of name heads.

While I may have left out one or two that I would consider, there are some I would not consider based on poor results, prove problems in the past, being booted as sponsor from the board etc.
