Default Comp 222/224 XE vs. TR224

How would a Comp 222/224 .566/.568 112 compare to the TR224/112? I know TR's cams use more aggressive lobes, but the lift is a bit higher on the Comp. Would I be able to feel any difference between the two? I'm really looking for a cam that will make a lot of torque under the curve, as it will be a street cam, and it's my understanding that the more agressive lobes make a noticeable difference under the curve.

Thanks,
Josh

comps 216/220 makes a little more torque than the 222/224
but the 222/224 makes a alot more peak power!

im going with the 222/224 .566/.568 114
ill let you know how i like it....

there is a good comparo in POPULAR HOTRODDING testing 3 diff COMP CAMS on a new LS1 on an engine dyno... though it had headers, elec. water pump, accufab TB...

basline was 407hp 409tq ( note all runs ended @ 6200 rpm...which means the last 2 cams were still making power @ redline! i guess the 222 cam would have hit 455hp @ 6500 and the 228 would have hit 470 @ 6800 rpm.)

first cam was a SMALL 212/218 .522/.529 114 lsa
numbers went to 439hp 426tq ... made good torque and good hp...very solid gains.
and a near stock curve...nice looking graph.

second was a MEDIUM 222/224 .566/.568 112 lsa
numbers went to 450hp 422tq...made over 10 more peak hp and only lost 4 tq to the last cam... power band was about 500 rpm higher... very nice graph! this the cam i will probly get! good numbers and it will probly pass CA smog!

third was a BIG 228/230 .571/.573 112 lsa
numbers were 455hp 421tq...if revved to 7000 it would have made 465 or so...not much tq gain over stock and less than the small cam! but this would be a good racing only cam with ported heads!

so out of the 3 i say the MEDIUM cam won! had just as much TQ as the small cam and more than the big cam...it also made awsome peak power and did give a good 1500-6500 power band....it will be an awsome daily driver with ported heads!
