Default Worth getting a 408 now that ls1 blown?

I can get a very good new lq9 408 shortblock for over 4000$ in a few days local. It is a lot of money, but i feel a stock rebuild is gonna run around 3000$ anyways. I dont have a lot of time to mess around and just want the car running.

I am getting a little bored of nitrous because it is too hard to get filled and it runs out too fast. I was thinking about selling the nitrous and getting a supercharger down the road, but i figure if i get a good 408, some nice heads and a cam in it, i could pretty much have 500/500 rw easy and not have to worry about a power adder. Hell i could keep the nitrous for when i goto the track too.

I keep goin back and forth in my head, I feel like these are one hell of a motor and will be great for anything i throw at it.

That's my plan. My stock LS1 just let go, and now I'm looking at an LQ9 swap. I say do it!

There's no replacement for displacement.

A rebuild plus any mods you want to do to the car will be just about the price of a LQ9 and LQ9 will hold so much more power. Definately worth getting the LQ9 and over time you can generate lots and lots of power alot safer then a stock LS1 block.
