Default Spun Main bearing.

Well, I cranked my car up today leaving college and it starts knocking, luckily im close to my dads office so I head there and just before I get to his office it starts sputtering, surging, and then cuts off. Well I pull the dipstick and its grey oil and it looks like glitter was put in my oil. Needless to say I am looking into getting a new motor. I looked allot last night and I think I have narrowed it down between Agostino and Futral Motorsports (Price and word of mouth). I was thinkin I wanted to go big bore, but then I started doing the math and realized I just couldnt afford it. I am gonna go with a 346 I believe, but I have a few questions, if you had to pick between Agostino and Futral who would you go with. My mods are in the sig, Im lookin for a motor that is gonna stand up to the abuse i throw at it, and second most important, IT CANT SMOKE. I absolutely hate it when my car smokes, I dont want my car to smoke like a chinese ***** when I lay into it. I dunno if thats a stupid thing to be picky about, but I just hate it. I dont go to the track a whole lot, but I do race allot..........I just ordered a strange 12bolt with 4.30s so I want somethin to compliment that rear end nicely. My car made 437rwhp 410rwtq with my TEA heads. Any suggestions, ideas would be greatly appreciated. If any other sponsers read this and wanna shoot me a PM with a price on a 346 shortblock feel free too, im still open to other companys...............money in hand.

Hint: If something goes wrong with the new motor, do you (1) Take it to Canada, or (2) Take it to Louisiana?

Do you see ARE over there on the sponsor list anymore? ---> They're not there for a reason...

FWIW. Between those 2, I'd choose Futral. No doubt about it.

I dont know if people over look TSP, but they have very reasonable engines, and Joseph is as top notch as they get if you ask me.

Might give Trevor or Jason a call.

But if you have Futral set then I have heard good things from them as well.

ARE is a joke. Talk about not standing behind your products. They don't even return your calls after you get their product.

Looks like a good price. About the core, I had a friend spin a main and the crank needed something like a .010 turn to smooth the crank back out where it had scored it some. Would a crank like this count as a core or would he have to buy a different crank to give you?

I wouldnt want to give the next guy a crank that has been cut, so I cant take it as a goodc core.

We supply the parts and RGR does all of the machine work/assembley.

I have heard good things about Futral too.

That is a great price from Speed Inc. It is hard to put together that combo for much less and still make a little money on it. I have built a few motors and can testify ot that. Not dinging the other sponsors either, as there are other great deals to be had from them.
