That one head is damaged as well.. Cracks all over it. This is why I have been asking all the questions about new engines. I know nothing is bullet proof, but I was hoping the engine would last longer than 15 months. I am going dual springs for sure next time.

Sorry Vince. JPR wanted to put 918's in my car with a .600 lift and I refused. Not going that route. I am using Crane duals because of crap like this. Sorry, I hope you can rise out from the rubble. Bear
Hey What lift were u running?

232/236 .595/.598 lsa 114.. There are people running bigger cams than that using 918's, but I think coupled with mileage and my aggressive driving put a early life to my single spring. Like I said. Dual springs for now on. Even if I put a stock cam back in the car I am putting dual springs on..

Vince, your cam has more exhaust lift than that. I think Alan told me that cam has .601 lift on the exhaust.
I wouldn't blame the breakage completely on the springs man. You drove the **** outta that car with a cam pushing .600 on both sides. 10K later, it was time to change like I told you a while ago. That mileage is actually about right for a single spring and such high lift. 918's are a good spring. But when running high lift cams, they should be changed by 8-10K.
However, i'm really sorry about the motor and i'm sure you'll get it figured out soon. This is just an excuse to make your dream come true even quicker

damn vince, that is too bad. i had a feeling the motor was a gonner. i have a small lift cam in my car .574" lift comp cams. but i will have to say that i have been worried with so many of these guys putting race lobe cams in their street cars. it is something to always worry about. good luck on your rebuild!
