Someone confirm 2000 stock valve spring lift?
Can someone please confirm for me that the 2000 stock valve spring max lift is .525? I'm thinking I can reuse my stock, low mileage valve springs from my LS1 in my 5.3 truck with small cam as long as lift is not greater than .525. Thanks a lot.

You could do it, but you would have to run a lower peak rpm to keep the valves from floating. Changing springs isn't too bad with the right spring tool and technique. Surprisingly, the easiest spring tool to use is the cheap NAPA Auto Parts lever tool; you just need to cut the handle off and use a bolt to force the tool to compress the spring.

Ya, I know but I'm trying so save a little money so I have more to spend on the sound system. The cam I'm looking at for my truck is mild with only .514 of lift. Thanks! Any other opinions on how this will work or not? Thanks again.

Hey Aidan,
Thanks for the info, it answered and addressed most of my concerns. But to clarify, you know of about 30 5.3l trucks using the stock F-body or truck springs? Thanks
