Default Valve chatter after car is warm?

Like the title says, what would cause valve chatter and ticking after the car is warm. When the motor is cold, the valve train is real quiet. This just started recently. I checked the pushrods and they are straight. I also checked if the rockers were loose but all is well. There is also a knock of some sort at 3000rpm. I don't know if I would call it a knock though. But it's an abnormal sound. Maybe valve float? All the internals are stock.

Do lifters still pump up oil to the rockers if they are collapsed?

What is the best way to check rockers without pulling the heads?

Will a compression test tell me what lifter is bad? I figure if the valve is not opening all the way, there would not be much to compress. Tell me if i'm wrong.

Alright, I am going to do a compression test next.

Will a bad lifter still pump oil to the rockers?
