It is a very stealth cam, power come on after 4K rpm. IMO you should shoot for 11.2:1 SCR or so. So about 61cc chambers.
If you do not allready have the cam, there are better options with a bit less lift. Something with a power range of 1800>6300 seing you have a 99 block.
What intake do you have? and what are you looking for in a cam?

It is more a question of DCR (Dynamic Compression Ratio) than SCR (static compression Ratio).
I run 12:1 in Dubai on 98 Octane (US 94 Octane) and my DCR is 8.9

well i am looking to make as much torque as possible with still being able to pass smog. i know thunder racings 224 camshaft will pass on a 114 but was just tryin to see what other cams are out there that will make good torque and hp numbers. as far as the manifold i was gonna use a slp ls6 manifold cuz it has all the emissions. but was also thinking of running the 78mm fast and drill and tapping were my egr goes. whatever one flows better will be the one i go with along with the 5.3 heads.
