Default cam swap M6 pulley issues

I'm tearing down my car for a cam swap and hit a little issue & need some advise on where to go with this

the issue is I have an M6 WITHOUT a parking break in the car(the bracket has been cut out for some fabrication), so i put the tranny in 4th yet the car still rolles back, so i put some chokes on the tires and even still the car is starting to ride over the chokes, so i drop the starter and look at options for wedging something yet im am doing this install alone and at weird hours so an extra set of hands isnt available

so where im at now is my only option i can think is is the Kent Moore Flywheel Locking Tool, yet i really dont want to drop the coin on it unless this is my only option......anyone ever have this scenario?

Go ahead and remove all the rocker arms. This will close all the valves and should help you out. It worked for me when I was doing a cam install in a GTO with a stubborn crank bolt.

I had the same issues you are talking about. My dad owns his own shop and has been working on cars his whole life. After I was struggling with it for a 30 minutes he insisted it would only take him a few minutes. Here is what he did, he took a torch to the outside of the bolt head got it kind of hot. He didn't heat up the center of the bolt just focused on the outside. Next he took a hammer and tapped the bolt head a few times. Now he took out the impact gun with a socket and that damn thing zapped right off. I about crapped my pants because I didn't think it would work.

so i left work early to try some out, the 6th gear method worked like a charm, the bolt popped rite out then i put my rented 3 jaw puller and the shatters into pieces on the first sign of pressure so there goes my deposit

any one with advise on a puller ? figured they were all the same, maybe mine was just crap from the get go

If it's a stock balancer, the absolute best puller to use is one from auto zone that is for a chrysler. It holds in the center and works great. Very beefy design.

Here is a thread with good info about the Chrysler puller. It is about the powerbond pulley but will work with stock pulley as well.
