Question Oil priming on new engine build??

What are you guys using to prime the engine during assembly? Having the oil pump mounted on the crank makes it a little different than the old SBC days.

I've heard of people pulling the fuse on the fuel injection, then just cranking the engine untill the gauge shows oil presure. The assembly lube should protect the engine that long.

...or pull the two cables that connect the PCm to the ignition coils...then just crank a while until the pressure builds..

Leaving the coil packs unplugged and pulling the fuel system fuses is the best way I've seen. It will keep the cylinders from loading up with fuel while you're cranking with no spark.

I pulled the spark plug wires off, cranked the engine 15 seconds at a time like 4 or 5 times. My gauge didnt read oil pressure, but I started it and after 1.5 seconds my gauge shot up and car has run excellent ever since.

Pull the fuel pump fuse and turn it over for about 10 secs. The gauge will NOT show pressure because all the gauges dont work while starting the car. Replace fuse/ relay and start the car, just dont rev it for a few seconds while it builds pressure again.
