Default Blew stock 347 with STS help me on where to go from here? 383? 402?

Well I have the engine out cylinder 8 is fried. I have an 01 WS6 with STS t67 fmic. I have $4000 max to spend on build. What is the best way to go for almost daily driver wanting to run 10-12#'s boost. Also whats safe boost and hp on applications advised? Should I go forged 383 or 402? Any help from sponsers would be appreciated as Im looking to buy and move forward this week so I can install and have it tuned..

I would be in the forced induction section to ask those questions.

And did you blow up a forged 347, or you called the stock 346 a 347?

If you blew the stock long block, that would sound normal, but a forged motor... you have bigger problems.

i'm going to assume he meant the stock motor. he did say "blew stock 347".

but just my .02, for $4k your options are pretty open. i'de say figure out what hp range you want to be at. and also decide whether or not you are going to change your turbo set up any. and i am guessing u live in vegas? so i dont think u will have any trouble finding an engine builder.

Was the entire engine stock? For 4k you'll probly have to stay 347ci. You'll have 500-1000 $$$ just in gaskets, seals, hardwhere, fluids, and little parts that should be changed while the engine is out... Timing chain, oil pump, lifters, ect.

if i had 4k to spend texas-speed has the iron block 370ci that goes for like $2999 and you will have enough for gaskets and a new oil pump and timing chain while your at it
