What are good replacement lifters for a vette ls1? I think I heard something about ls2 or ls6 lifters? Where can I buy them thats not online like a dealership since I get a discount from my work and what would I ask for, just say ls6 lifters or do I need to say a vehicle with a ls2/ls6 in it?

what is considered more "heavy duty" the LS7 or the CTSV lifters? How do the Comp R lifters stack up against these two?

The comp R's are alittle noisy and sensitive to preload adj. I had better luck with stock GM lifters. It all depends on what you are going to do with the engine. Isky are good but expensive. Thats what I'm using on my new build.

Actually the Comp "R" lifter needs an Adjustable valve train "Adjustable Rockers" if you try to put them on with the stock lifters you will never get the right preload. The preload is .002 to .004. Since you can't get the right preload only an idiot will go to smaller push rod to try and do this and theoretically he thinks he did it but he will leave some valves tight and some loose changing the sweep of the rocker.

This will cause puking of valves tips because the rocker is loose, accelerated valve guide wear, because of the oil pressure some of the valves will not close all the way, damage to the valve seats and lose of HP to include catastrophic failure. These are few of the things the guy who put my H/C package together forgot to tell me and now my Corvette is in pieces in my Garage. Stay away from the Comp "R" lifters unless you have a true professional install them not an inept idiot thinking that because he owns a shop he knows what he is doing.

The LS7 or the CTS V the only 2 lifters you need to know about.

damn! well I have comp "R"s but also have a set of the comp 1.75's in the car. I think I will be tossing in a set of the caddy lifters when I toss in the new cam, and heads. Good info to have. I wonder if mine were setup correct. The car doesn't seem to have any troubles besides being down on power compared to similar setups.

Just overnighted a set of gm performace lifters from summit....yeah, I know, not exactly an upgraded lifter but it's better than these rollers that dont spin nice and free...

the car being down on power would be caused by the lifters? Can you elaborate a little bit more on what these lifters do to cause a loss in power?

The lifters open the valves, the lifters need to build up pressure from oil and if they dont build up pressure the lifters dont open...or not nearly as much...

I heard the CTS V lifters aren't good to put in stock valvetrain motors, because the CTS's had lighter valvetrain, and I guess since ls1's don't, I would think they would fail
