Default will 06 Lq9 oil pump work on 2000 LS1 5.7?

Looks like I f'd something up or my oil pump crapped out when I did a cam swap. Motor has 108k and good oil pressure prior to taking appart, so I just reused the oil pump. after getting the motor back in the car it now has low oil pressure. ~28 psi cold and seems to peak around 40 psi. Since I am so lucky to get to pull the cover, I am most likely going to swap the pump too..... I have a 45k mile pump from a lq9 that I wanted to use. Will this work? The cam is ony a LS2 GTO cam so it is small. I will be running the car for autocross and had oil issues with the ported slp pump (too much oil up in the heads on sustained high rpm).

This is one of the reasons I left the stock pump in there..... wasn't haveing issues and had good oil pressure. I may have a bad pump or leaky gasket on cam retainer......

Can I use this pump?

thanks

not yet. I would have thought that if it was pinched and the pump was sucking air and oil, it would have bubbly oil and no pressure. Mine just is lower now ~28 psi at 550 and just over 30 psi at ~800. Doesn't seem to peak higher than 40 now.

Would/could a pinched o ring cause that with no bubbles?

yes the oil pump will work...

however an ls2 cam does not have a reluctor for the cam sensor...no way the cam will work without an ls2 timingh cover and set....and the ls2 cam is really no better than say a 98-00 camshaft....

but yeah the pump will interchange...

I already have the new front cover and extension. Only reason I put the GTO cam in is that it was laying around and has the same duration but .525 lift compared to .497 on the stock ls1 f-body cam. Basically the equivalent to running a 1.8 rocker. Would I buy one to install???? HELL no! however I am penalized for running a cam in the class I run for AX, but not penalized for running higher ratio rockers. front cover and extension was cheaper than rockers and since I had the cam.... problem solved! A little mor hp for relatively cheap.

Thanks,I think I will try to swap it unless I find something else wrong that is causing the low oil press instead.
