Default Build up of a LS1 info/help needed

I am posting for a friend. He has a 2000 Camaro Z28 and wants to build up the internals as of right now he has a LS6 intake manifold Throttle body headers 460LE with a stall. He is shotting for number as high as possible which we are hoping is over 550-600 RWHP.

We are looking to do heads cam lifters etc etc to get to this number all NA numbers he is also debating about a lil juice(probably a 150 shot

EDIT: he also has a walbro 255 fuel pump

So what you are saying is an LS1 built (in an auto no less) to make 550-600 NA? Well most would say thats impossible. Add spray and it could be achieved but I believe you would be pushing the limits of the internals of the engine and the block itself.

With an LS1 at 5.7L you are hampered by cubes (347) to get to 550+ hp N/A. If you go to an LS2 block or 6.0L (402 cubes) block it will be a lot easier for him to get there. Now he can easily get to 450 RWHP N/A on the LS1, and maybe 500 but the 347 cube limitation is the biggest thing that will hold you back on your way to a 600 rwhp N/A.

Your going to need alot of money, time, patience, and alot more money to buy everything to support this kind of power.

Big cam, nice flowing heads, wicked tuner. You will need the spray for that.

Do a search there are people here in the 500whp category with stock displacement I think its a sticky. But all of them took money not just some off the shelf heads and cam.

From what Ive heard 500 is about the max NA. Also, someone correct me here but the blocks themselves can only hold 550-600 correct?

I know the budget my friend has can handle 500rwhp, his pockets aren't empty.

What I really need help with is heads, Cam we already have a idea of what we want. Heads lifters springs etc

And also I believe there will be a 150 Shot

Fact is, you're more than likely not going to hit 500+ to the wheels on just a heads/cam combo with the 5.7. It's possible, but not likely. Now with that said, take a 6.0 with a big custom grind cam, good heads, and a fast, with a good tune, you'll probably see the destination. My choice for 500 na would be take an lq9 block, make a 408 with a good h/c combo and see 500.

If you're friend is willing to spray, then forget what i said above, ms4+heads+fast+spray= around 550 i'd think.
