Default Ummm? What? LS6 Cam in 2002 Camaro SS?

The LS3 camshaft is typical Gen 3/4 faire--a gun drilled steel billet with roller hydraulic lifters. It's based on the one used in the LS6 which was used in a few 2002 Camaro SSes.

I've never believe the myth that a few 02's got the LS6 block, until I stumbled on one last year I put heads on. It had an LS6 block, and was an 02 car.

As for the cam, I highly doubt that. That would then require LS6 valve springs due to the higher lift of the LS6 cam.

definitely not. 01-02's got the LS6 intake and i think most got the LS6 block, not the whole motor. from 98-02 they changed up the fbody LS1's cam, but it was never an LS6 cam.

LS6 Intake (from 01+) and 'some' LS6 blocks but never have I seen anything regarding an LS6 Engine/LS6 Cam.... ? I just skimmed JRPs FAQs and didn't see anything. Very odd.

There's a reason why you aren't finding the information - it is because it never happened. If an '01+ F-body ended up with the LS6 heads and/or cam, it was because the owner put it there, not the factory.

As stated, all '01+ F-bodies got the LS6 intake, and a handful of them got an actual LS6 block, but the block itself contributes nothing to the performance. FWIW, mine came with an LS1 block, built somewhere around October/November of 2001 as a 2002 model.

I just shot the website an email asking for clarification... seems I'm either reading it wrong or it's just a misprint/bad info.
