Default Need someone to crosscheck me

Ok So i have my heads and Cam, here is the thing. I have LS6 Ported heads the valves are stock LS6, the springs are the Comp 977's. The Cam im putting in is as follows:
Duration@ .050 236/242 .601/.610 on 114. Will this all work?? Im not sure if these springs can support the cam?

Ya. Why and how are you getting that #977 spring to fit in that head without maching the spring pockets? A 921 spring kit would have been a better choice.

Bought the heads with the springs already installed. Kinda Stuck with them. Can i expect floating Valves above 6300?

I believe coil bind will be an issue. The #977 spring coil binds @1.195 and if your in at 1.800 with .610 lift max, your binding man.

Pop a spring off or 2, and see what installed height there in at. Usually the #977s go in @1.850, so if there right there or close to it your safe.

1.800-.602= 1.198 .003 clearance
1.800-.610= 1.190 -.005 clearance (binding)

1.850-.602= 1.248 .053 clearance
1.850-.610= 1.240 .045 clearance (tight)

.050 is recommended coil bind clearance per manuf.

Ok so do i measure from where the machining is to the top? Where are the 2 points im measuring from???

What options do i have if i end up having to switch springs with the heads already machined??

Measure from bottom side of the outter lip of the retainer to the top of the spring seat locator. And change the whole setup.

Change the whole set- up to what now that the heads have been machined what are my options for springs?? I measured from the base where the machining was cut down to, too the top of the spring its-self. That came out to 1.800 on the botton.
