Default LS6 cam in LS1

I want more hp for my z28. I was thinking it was time for a cam. But this car is daily driven and i dont want any trouble with it, i dont want to wrry about anything, even tuning. Any suggestions on the LS6 cam??? Is it worth the money?? Does it increase hp and tq??? O and i have 10,000 miles left on my warrenty and i dont want to void that, so thats why i want a SNEAKY cam like this.

It will void your warranty. One look at the slime green LS6 springs will be a tip off.
Anyhow, the LS6 cam is a great mild upgrade. Users are anywhere within 360 to 375 RWHP with proper setups & tuning.

Also worth looking into for stealth... and these offer even more gains than the LS6 cam:

MTI Stealth Cam.
TR220 on 114 or the "Old Man" cam from Thunder Racing.

skip the cam now and run your warrenty the last 10k miles then look into mods and a better cam.

A little lacquer thinner and those green stripes magically disappear. Thats what I did and they looked identical to my stock LS1 springs when I compared them. For most people the LS6 cam will run fine on a stock PCM tune but you will be leaving a bit of power on the table without a good tune. Yes it is worth the money for the power you get especially if you do the cam swap yourself. My total cost for the cam and springs was a shade under $300. On stock manifolds with the LS6 cam and some bolt ons you will be anywhere between 330-350 rwhp give or take. With all mods in my sig minus my YTs and TR224 new cam I made 376 rwhp @ 361 rwtq with a LS1 Edit tune. Before the tune I was at 362 rwhp @ 351 rwtq. HTH

This mod will NOT void the warrenty!!!
That is will NOT!!!
This is a GM camshaft, and if you discuss it with the dealer, they will allow it, but might make you get them to install it. This cam can be ordered directly through your local dealer, and will NOT void the waranty, and GM does not open the engine when you take it in (unless needed), so if you decide to go larger then raise the idle. My friend has a 01 TA with a X1 cam and the have no damn clue!!

I repeat, this does NOT void the warranty!!

Of course they're not ripping valve covers off on your run of the mill scheduled service, but if they wish to refuse a claim, and you're running an aftermarket cam (even if its GMHPP), I think it's only one bad Service Manager relationship away from having your warranty voided, then the paper battle with GM begins.
Oh, why am I so concerned, my warranty's shot!

my dealer has an idea about mine and could care less.of course i havent had any engine problems either.they know my car is modded but they dont hastle me.honestly its not detectable.i dont even know its there unless i listen real close.it idles a little different and slightly louder but youd never know.

if youre looking for an inexpensive cam that makes ok power this is a good choice.if you want big power with a noticeable lope dont even think about this cam.after tuning it really woke up.
