Default Gain from G5X-2 and patriot ls6 heads

I'm thinking about switching my heads and cam over the winter. I currenty have TEA stage two 5.3 heads and a comp 228/228 .581/.581 112 lobe sep. 2 degress advanced. My car dyno's 403hp at 6300rpm and 377tq at 4600rpm. Would I pick up alot of power?? My car runs 11.35 at 117mph .

Yea, you'd gain quite a bit. I'd say that combo would be good for 440 RWHP if have a six speed.

I've seen alot of numbers. I think that I could pick up 20rwhp and 10rwtq. No one has any opinions on this.

I would think that would be a good baseline. One customer made 445 rwhp thru a 4200 stall and a 12 bolt with the same combo.

I think your current set up is really STOUT for an A4 as well as your ets. I honestly don't think you would pick up more than .1 to .2 tenths in the 1/4 mile and more than 10RWHP but who knows for sure. Just don't think the cost benefit ratio is worth it but hey, its your $!

Good Luck and hope your final decison works out for you!

I would maybe swap cams and see if that gains much , but the heads are damn good heads that you have and the cam is good also.

Was that 403 rwhp locked or unlocked? Either way it's really good but if it was unlocked then those are great numbers through that drivetrain already. But if your looking for every last horsepower and .1 then it might be worth a try.

Those number are locked. I want a cam that pulls hard to 6800rpms. My current setup peaks at 6300rpm but falls of alot at 6600rpm. Next year I'm looking to put a 150 shot on the car. I think this cam would work better on nitrous than my current cam.

I'd stick with the heads you've got and just swap out the cam. The amount of cash that would be spent on the heads would be better spent elsewhere. I agree with you that the G5X2 would be better for nitrous, and it will definitely give you the rpm range that you want. I'd expect that cam to make at least 15 more hp than what you've got. You do have a pretty nice setup already though. Good luck!

I was considering this setup but.....check out the last couple dynos with the PP ls6 and the g5x2 & g5x3.....NOT GOOD! but we'll have to wait and see, hopefully its something minor and not with the combo.

What do you mean by "couple" of dyno's? I've only seen the ONE with the X3 cam.

i agree. unless you are going for big cubes in the future, LS6 heads arent worth the money
