Default What kind of power and times can i run

So i will soon be ordering a built 347 from hke and i will be useing a 228r cam or similar cam with ls7 lifters, ls2 timing chain, and stock 243 heads this will be in my bolt on 02 trans am lpp lt, ory, gmmg, p&p throttle body, lid, and 3000 stall. It made 332rwhp before. Other uprgades that will be coming soon after the motor will be built tranny, yank 3600, electric cutout, magnaflow catback, tires, and suspension bolt ons. My goals will be as close to 400rwhp and mid to high 11s do you think my goals are in good reach? Should i mill the heads any to make more power? I kno it would be easy with a bigger cam but i dd my car and dont want a very big or choppy cam. Thanks.

You might make 400 to the wheels. and 11s should be possible with that set up

I have a built 383 stroker from HKE matted to AFR heads that pumps out approx 475 RWHP. Run about 11.5 NA, 10's on the juice (see vid and specs in sig) in the dead of summer while babying it. Think high 11 possible with your future set up. Eric K buils some baddass motors. Get Patrick G (mod on this board) to spec you a cam. He works majic for what you want. My ride is also my DD (sleeper with no cage) and I love it.

saying a stock short block car with bolt ons 243's and a 224 cam go 11.80's all day i think its safe to say your mid low 11's.

im gonna go with pretty close to 400 as well.

I think you will be in the 370 380 range at the wheels. Dont get cought up on the dyno # I was so pissed when my car (almost the same setup lil bigger cam and better heads) only put down 379hp on a dynojet.

My friend with a 6 speed 415whp camaro was talking so much crap, and I bought it. I was looking for why I was down on power......well until we raced and he got his A$$ handed to him.

Yea im defintly more worried about what i can run in the 1320 the hp is just for braging lol but if it makes 370 to 380 and runs mid to low 11s i can always down play it lol i was thinking about talking to pat g or predator z to spec me a cam i would rather have a custom cam anyway!

lol i made 380 with a baby 220/224 in a damn million mile 98.....no reason that setup shouldnt put over 400 to the tire....and to add to the stall comment once the tcc locks there not alot of power loss.....still a lil more than a m6 but not as much as most let on....

I had a TR224 cam in my full bolt-on WS6 with a stock 4L60E and a 3200 stall and went 11.60's in the quarter. Don't remember the mph. 1.63-60'. NO SUSPENSION WORK. Only put down 353rwhp on a mustang dyno. Dyno numbers don't mean much.

My car went a best of 11.66 @ 116 cam only. It put down 400rwhp and 375rwtq with the 228R.

You should have no problem reaching your goals

Add a 12 bolt to that list soon Stall will hurt the dyno numbers but that definitely sounds like an 11 second car.

Just an FYI I ran a stock 10-bolt and had absolutely NO PROBLEMS. And if you do break it, you can find 10 bolts for a couple hundred bucks all day.

Footbraking doesn't shock the rear like a transbrake does. Footbreaking is just using the wheel brakes from preventing movement-the energy is already in the rear waiting to be unleashed.
