Is there any way to tell the differance bettween stock valve springs and after market springs?

Some of the aftermarket springs are not beehive shaped so they have bigger retainers. Most of the Comp 918 spings have a blue stripe. And of course if they are dual springs, they are not stock. Other than those things, you could take one off and measure it's tension.
