loud squeeling help I just installed a new never run ls6 into my s10 i run it for 10 min then changed the oil today was the first time i had it on the road it did ok for a little while now its making a loud squeeling noise even when i remove the belt could it be a bad cam bearing no nocking whatsoever sounds like a loose fan belt or something

It isn't the tires being roasted at all times is it? Just kidding. You best bet is to use a long screw driver and see if you can pinpoint the noise and where it is coming from.

yea it will get a little squirrly in second but i feel 90% its a cam bearing spun so gonna start disecting the truck tomorrow it is one more pain in the a$$ to get the engine out fenders and inners then jack the cab up to get it all out it if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck

That bearing looks great! I have seen some with the brass showing and they still work fine! I would look elsewhere. Are you sure it wasn't something like a small vacuum leak wistling, or maybe something in the tranny?

well not real sure it just sounded like a spun cam bearing or like a fan belt slipping removed the serp belt and noise still there sounded like it was in the front of the engine it did sound like metal to metal
