Default LS1 to LQ9, worth it?

i've got a high milage (206k miles) LQ9 that i'm thinking of swapping in for my LS1 (65k miles), would it be worth it?
i would also be swapping over my ported LS6 heads and custom cam (226/236), i would be putting new cam bearings and rings in the LQ9

i need help deciding what i want to do with this LQ9, any help is appreciated!

not to be a pesimist, but with 209k on the clock i bet there is some cylender taper. you could bore it and make a 370, or bore and stroke it to your hearts content.

i'd love to stroke it, but the very high cost is going to be a problem for a while.

if the motor has 206 000 miles i would defiantly rebuild it. the bearings will need to be replaced, piston rings, cam bearings and i would highly suggest throwing in new pistons

Absolutely. Don't put any more cash into the LS1, drive it to your hearts content. While all that fun is going down, have the Q9 machined and buy some goodies for it. Then swap it once funds/time allows.

I agree with the general concensous so far. Put it in but not till you rebuild it! I would pull it apart and spec it then if you can just rebuilt it to factory specs. Should be able to rebuild it for $650 or less if you don't need to bore it.
