Default Question about OIL?

Ok i know this has a lot to do with personal preference, but i need some input on what oil to run. I have always used royal purple 5w 30 in my car, but after the cam install the shop put in 10sw 40 conventional valvoline. I need to know if i can go right back to using my royal purple 5w 30 or if there is a reason to go to a 40wieght conventional oil. Please give me your input im trying to get some small things done before the LSXshootout. I know this may seem like a stupid question to some of you, but i just am that concerned with what goes on with my car. Let me know what you guys think.

so is there anything wrong with me going ahead and sticking with the valvoline since that what was put in after the cam swap and oil pressure seems to be ideal with this weight of oil.

Yes...you can absolutely go back to your Royal Purple.

Virtually any "full" synthetic is a better choice than any conventional. They used conventional for one reason...it is cheap!!!!

dont forget how much extra wear nitrous puts on the oil....i know you dont spray alot but some of the nitrous guys change their only constantly. i usually change mine after a full bottle. and with damn near 8 bucks a quart, i may switch back to a conventional
