Thermostat & neck single piece?

Thermostat & neck single piece? Is the thermostat a single unit? meaning the metal neck and the thermostat are all one piece? I cant seem to remove the innerds from the metal neck piece

If you have the ls1 style then the thermostat is part of the housing. You can remove the actual thermostat guts by pushing down on the spring part and turning 90 degrees past the two nubs.
All of the replacement stats come with the entire housing (which is why it costs $50+).
If you have an ls2 style waterpump than you can replace just the thermostat with a regular SBC style.
