I'd just go ahead and put the rods in there while you're at it.. save you from tearing back into it and some insurance from problems down the road if you don't..

Rumor has it, stock crank is good to around 800 though..

your rods are the weak point. whats the point in replacing pistons and tearing apart the motor and leaving the rods stock? leave the crank alone and forge the pistons and rods

Rods will take you around 700, never heard of anyone breaking a stock crank, seen them live in 1000+ hp cars for extended use.

i highly doubt that the stock rods would last up to 700.... and if they did then im sure that they would not last that long at all

Friend had a H/C/I with a 300 shot, nothing but forged pistons for almost 2 seasons. Rods started to twist a little but they never broke.
