I was looking at the GM Performance website and this is what I found tell me what do you think? GMPartsdirect sells them for $906.50 (no core)
Taken from website..........................
88958622 Head, Gen 3 Aluminum Racing
This cylinder head starts with the production LS6 cylinder head and is then CNC ported for maximum flow. It is the cylinder head of choice for Corvette showroom stock road racing. With this cylinder head and the ASA camshaft, Gen 3 engines can approach 500 horsepower in racing applications. This cylinder head includes production LS6 valve springs and valves.
Technical Notes: These ported heads are race only. Not for street usage.

From what I gather from people on here is they are:
*milled a good bit so you have to be careful when running high lift cams.
*raises compression a good bit.
*They are ported to flow best under .550 lift
*need better springs for most aftermarket cams (over .550 lift)
*good price w/ the light weight valves
*can be good if you watch piston to valve clearence
*best for a cam with "mild" lift
*the CNC porting design was developed by Lingenfelter

What does milled mean?
How much will it raise compression to (approximate)?
What is a "mild" Cam? Under 230 duration and .600 lift? would anything within those bounderies work?

"Milled" refers to the procedure used to remove material from the deck surface of the head to take available chamber volume away and raise the compression ratio in the engine. Depending on chamber volume, you may see 10.5-11.0:1 compression, all else being stock. I think there's a thread that's stickied outlining this.
Yes, a mild cam anymore is around 220-224 or so. Lifting .600 on stock cubes is probably a waste. Stay under that....550"-.58X" seems popular. There are way more issues to cams that just these. Do your homework and you'll find something that works for you.
I think this head has been raised before and the consensus was that's a price per head. Are those the same ones?
