What is the part number for the cam retaining plate for the LS1?

There are two different plates now.

One has the bolt holes countersunk (newer style), and the other doesn't (older style). Not much of a variation, though. The part number I have is 12556437.

I believe the dealership only has the newer style now. Make sure you buy new bolts to go with it, your originals won't work.

I had 3 lifters go bad, the roller started to go (stock). That was all. Cam actually looked OK but I am not taking my chances, so time to rebuild the top end.

Oh, I meant lifters. So they were the stock ones.

Tighten the new retaining bolts to 12ft lbs, any higher and the plate may crack.

Anything can crack with improper torque. The bolt seat is tapered so it is much easier to crack.
