Default broken head bolt...what to do?

Helping a friend with his car tonight...long story short, while torquing the heads back down, one of the M8 bolts (the small ones on the top) broke. it is the one in center. what are our options here?

see if you could tap it and pull it out if not u might have to take the head off. I had this happen to me once when i had my mustang, i had to take off the head and then use a vice grip on the little that was left of the bolt to unscrew it.

Honestly, since its one of those small bolts, you probably gonna have to take the head off. If a vice grips won't get it out, you amy have to buy a stud installer. (that is if it didn't break below the deck of the block) Don't forget that once you do have it out, you should run a tap (the same size and thread) through that hole to clean the threads.

Were they new head bolts? I know someone who didn't know you have to use new head bolts. Just curious honest mistake if so.

get a center punch and hammer the punch into the center of the bolt. Then get a bolt extractor drill bit and power drill it in reverse till it comes out.

I broke a bolt off in a head once lol
