Default Question on head sitting over the winter

I bought a set of the PP LS6 style heads and received them a couple of weeks ago. I put the car in storage just after receiving them and put the heads and cam in the basement until next spring. Should I do anything to these heads to prevent any problems after installation (i.e. seal problems, oil the cam or anything else)

These are some thoughts I have. You may want to consider storing them someplace where the liklihood of things crawling into them is minimized. Consider wrapping them in plastic garbage bags and keeping them where the humidity is regulated. The basement may not be real good for that unless it's climate controlled. Until you get them put on, that's what I'd do. They'll weather the winter fine, it is just for some degree of prevention I suggest this. If the cam is new and still has the oily coating on it, keeping it stored in the shipping bag and the box taped up should be fine. Keeping the dirt and crap out of the heads is the thing to do. Good luck!

light coat of wd40 and wrap in a garbage bag and twist and tie. Then use a 2nd bag and double bag it.

There is no way to protect these heads from severe damage without them being on a engine! Send them to my address and will take care of this for you! Just kidding, I think the double garbage idea is great though, except coat them with grease, not WD40. WD40 is basically just kerosene; this is a solvent that will evaporate quickly.

Another good thing to do it use masking tape and tape over the combustion chambers (just go end to end of the head) and tape over the ports and the spark plug holes.

I left mine in the bags that Patriot shipped them in.
They are just collecting dust in my bedroom, like the rest of my parts.
I gotta say, 450hp worth of parts on my bedroom floor is the best interior decorations I have bought, yet
