Default 5.3 Internals?

Im pretty sure this is the right section, if not please move.

I was reading through Car Craft, specifically the 5.3 section, and something about the rotating assembly caught my attention. They said for the ppl that bore the 5.3 out to get to 5.7 liters they hafta run a different crank because of the added piston weight. So, is it not an option for me to bore the block and get new pistons, then shot peen the factory rods and have the whole rotating assembly balanced?

i would imagine if you have the assembly balance you could use the 5.3 crank.

Thats what I would think too, but it said somethin about the cranks being different because of the difference in piston weight from the factory.

Can anyone shed more light on this?
